Media
Media in Moldova remains one of the most controversial industries. Among the trends of the recent years are concentration of various media resources and their politicization. Alongside these processes, in the end of 2018 the new Code of Audiovisual Media Services was approved. The Code sets forth major rules for broadcasting organizations, requirements and limits to their activities, rules on advertising, and establishes the regulatory framework for the activity of the Audiovisual Council.
Media organizations also face a number of other complex legal issues, such as copyright, access to information, protection of sources of information, limits on the freedom of expression, administration of electronic media resources, protection of honour, dignity and professional reputation, etc. The regulation of media also involves many related issues of human rights.
We provide advice to media and broadcasting organizations on diverse issues and challenges faced by them in their activities, to individual journalists with respect to their rights and obligations, and to private persons regarding their relations with media organizations or materials published by them.
